Dear Technetters,

I would like to get more inputs and help from TechNet Gurus. This is concerning test points allocation/assigning on the PCB for ICT development. If we were to introduce test points to measure all the analog components, then we may run out of real estate during PCB routing and the methodologies for the testing of analog components remain underdeveloped when the PCB real estate is on demand.

Question: Is there any simulation software to calculate the impedance between one net to another net?

Whereby using the "Impedance Calculator" and assign the test point designator based on the impedance representation/equivalent of that particular circuitry, mainly for analog portion. In other words, assigning test point on certain nets to test passive components as gang/group component where it can covers number of components. I believe, in term of real estate, this is much practical technique that can be deployed and minimize the number of test points allocation. This process should be done prior to PCB layout where the information should be proliferated first into schematic capture.

Looking forward your invaluable inputs.
