Well, Clumpy and Kloumpios weren't as ready as they thought. The two deck
hands that installed the JATO bottles put them on backwards. So they had a
little delay getting that straightened out. But once they got everything as
it should be, WOW!

After the rockets fired and they got up on plane, the concern about the mast
was well founded. They did lose the mast, along with the sail and the two
deck hands that first put the JATO on backwards! The Rolls Royce has more
power than they will ever possibly need. Clumpy was having a ball, but
Kloumpios was pretty much speechless. They did impress some other boaters as
they flew by:

They'll be back in no time...

It looks like Clumpy and Kloumpios are ready to go:

They've taken on fuel for the Rolls Royce engine and added another pair of
JATO rockets in addition to the original pair (because of the weight of
another John Deere), in order to get up on plane. It looks like all of the
deck hands are looking at the mast wondering if it will survive the
acceleration. I'm concerned that nobody is wearing hearing protection. Might
have to yell when talking to Clumpy and Kloumpios when they get back, their
hearing might be shot...

Both John Deeres have been repaired and Clumpy said he is leaving this
evening, ready for his next mission. However, he found his
rocket-propelled raft will hold both John Deeres, so he is taking cousin
Kloumpios back with him. As Kloumpios knew no English, only Greek, he
did a crash course over two evenings and now speaks English like an
Englishman.

Clumpy and Kloumpios did sterling work between them and all the wiring,
power and signal, is now installed, tested and working. I guess they did
75% of the work. I much appreciate their diligence.

I hope they will have a pleasant and uneventful journey back to home
base and that Kloumpios settles in well.

Brian
