My guess is nickel.

I looked at the fcc elements and eliminated the radioactive ones and the ones I know do not appear in native elemental form. If I then eliminate the precious metal ones, I am only left with copper and nickel. I have no clue how much the body needs of either of these two essential elements, but I will guess nickel since it is les reactive.

If I am right, I will bow out of future contests.
