 Hi Sylvain,
You clearly need an alloy with a low modulus as well as high ductility—that eliminates most Pb-free solders, and eaves SnPb and some In-based alloys.
Much will depend how these solder joints will be loaded in use.
Fatigue behavior is per Coffin-Manson.

Dear Technetters,



I am looking for some information about solder joints / alloy behavior in 

extremely low temperature environment; in this particular case, for temperatures 

below 77K.



I have not been very lucky so far and could not find any useful data or papers.



Do any of you have experience with such environment? Any alloy to suggest or to 

stay away from? Some literature or studies that would be available somewhere?



Thanks in advance for your help and sharing your thoughts about that cold case.
