We have understood that table 9.1 is for general equipment and table
9.2 is for printed circuit boards. In UL 840 is states: "For printed
wiring boards using Table 9.2, the existence of recurring voltages is
to be evaluated in accordance with 9.6."
Some of engineers have decided to always us table 9.1, even for circuit
boards, so that UL can have no questions as to whether or not we meet
the specs.

Can someone tell me how to interpret UL-840? Looking at table 9.1 and
9.2. Which table applies for circuit boards traces? Does 9.2 apply to
traces covered by mask and 9.1 apply to circuit board pad not covered
by mask. It is very confusing!
