It is the DI water since the resistivity 2-18  megOhms and the lowest reading is .5 meg before you change out the D i's resin and carbon tanks.

I'd use soft water with a 5 micron filter at the source to assure you don't clog the nozzles.

A clear housing will help identify when you should change the filters.

You'll want to put a valve before to shut off the source and one after the filter so the water from higher points don't drain back on you when you change the filter. A directional check valve on the filter's output would work if the verticle pipe is close to the filter.

Okay...I'm thinking thunderstorms. But I'm pretty sure this wasn't happening
before we put a DI column in for the water.

We put the humidification in to prevent static, not generate it.

Not because of the deionized water as much as the water itself...

Space charge collects on water droplets at emission point and due to
movement... Then the chargeable particulate generates current due to a delta
V in potentials...Think thunderstorms...

This may be an off the wall question but here goes.

We have some misting fans that we use for humidification that we've just
recently put in a deionized water source for.

Now it seems that there's a static charge being generated at the fans that
I've never noticed before. Could it be possible that we're generating a
charge at the fans because of the DI water?
