Dear Technos,

 

I have this plastic ring, see http://ipc-technet.groupsite.com/galleries/show/17589 . The red arrow marked pins (actually 5 of them, 2 not visible) traverse the PCB and are then melted on the bottom, in order to immobilize the part. This acetal melts pretty easily when heated with the heat gun, but due to high volume and process consistency we would like to find another solution.

 

Anybody having done this in the past? What high productivity and repeatability tools would be available out there?
