Dave,
Clumpy arrived in Florida with a strong wind and unusually cold temperatures on Monday.
Clumpy assisted me in one of my secondary roles, as an internal auditor to the AS9100 quality management systems requirements.
A set of outside eyes was helpful to me and was better than grunt work for Clumpy.

Subject: [TN] NTC Friday Element Quiz - the Answer

Hi folks - here is the Friday Element Quiz Answer:

The Question:

This element has a world inventory supply of nearly 1 gram. This element
is the heaviest element that has engineering use.

Bonus question: This element has two crystal structures - name the crystal

structure that exists above 590C.

The Answer:

The element is Californium (Cf). Cf has been used in some cancer
treatments and in various investigations were a very strong neutron source
is required. Cf has a FCC structure above 590C and yes, its boiling point
is 1470C.

The winner of the week's quiz is Dick Krug of Sparton Corporation. Wendy
Sanches of Teradyne was the closest on answering the Bonus question. Sorry
Graham, looks like Clumpy is heading to Florida to assist Dick and you'll
have to shovel snow yourself.

So far Clumpy has:

Week 1 Lamar Young, SCS Coatings
- accomplished nothing (drank lots of coffee)

Week 2 Bev Christian, RIM
- conducted REACH material testing

Week 3 Drew Meyer, Benchmark Electronics Inc.
- Solderability testing and mowed the lawn

Week 4 Ian Fox, Goodrich
- had an epic journey of travel

Week 4 Gary Ferrari, Garrick Global
- ???? Gary owes us a description

Week 5 Fredrick Miller, Astrolab
- ???? Fredrick owes us a description

Week 6 David Nelson, Raytheon
- Was a tackling dummy for Dallas Cowboys

Week 7 Graham Collins, L3 Communications
- Cleaned gutters and painted window trim

Week 8 Bill Noel, ITT Geospatial Systems Division
- ???? Bill owes us a description

Week 9 Steve Gregory of RD Circuits
- ???? Steve owes us a description

Week 10 David Bealer of Watchfire Signs
- descaled the in-line wash machine! Ouch!

Week 11 Dick Krug of Sparton Corporation
- ???? Dick owes us a description

Have a great weekend.
