Shawn,
I have never added Fiducials to my Pick and Place data.
My preference is to set 0,0 at a Fiducial and have the PnP written from there.
Currently the tool I use does not make this easy so I add a dimension to my Assembly drawing to show the offset from 0,0 to first Fiducial.
Fiducials are not parts so they don't belong in a PnP file.
Just another opinion,

Nah, using Altium. I have them set as "Standard (No BOM)" and it
appears they don't come out on Pick and Place when I do that. Did not
realize until I saw it today, by accident; most of my boards have
fiducials "just in case" it goes to pick and place. This particular
board will be, so I'm glad I caught it now--but now I need to check on
that on a bunch of prior designs...

They should definitely be in the PNP file.
If you're using PADS, I recommend adding them as non-ECO parts and
giving
them a prefix like 'FID' so they can be spotted easily.
