miniDIMM has 96mm length, twice size as normal BGA. The temperature difference between end miniDIMM and middle miniDIMM has 10C and more if heat with hot air or IR BGA reworking heater. DIMM distortion caused by temperature difference and PCBA twist, you know, may fail to rework.

Any special solder irons or tools available in the industry to get miniDIMM reworking easier?

Using a copper wire that is hot enough (depend on you available tools)
o "suck out" the solder short if there is the issue though it is a bit
ime consuming but do able.

TechNet,
SMT Tails of 244 pin miniDIMM are shadowing by the component housing,
older irons can not reach SMT Tails, how to rework and repair if poor
oldering?
