Great idea Chet!  A good addition.  Yes, capacitors are the toughest.  So many different working voltages.

With items like ICs we try to have the YYYY number be the significant part of the PN but usually we just assign them sequentially as we need them.

Hardware like screws, nuts, etc.. is really a mess and that's why I want to update the system.  A bear I know, but it's got to be done.
Thankfully I just have to design it - someone else has to make the changes in the MRP system !
