*Position Description :*



Supplier Quality Response Engineering’s (SQRE) Mission is to enable Cisco
Quality Excellence through active management & improvement of supplier
quality performance.  As a member of the SQRE team, the candidate will be
assigned specific Component Technologies and be responsible for the Quality,
Defect Reduction, Management and Resolution of Component quality issues, and
executive communications for those component families.





*Key Responsibilities include:*

* *

• Quality Issue Management: assemble and lead cross-functional,
multi-cultural, and geographically-dispersed teams in the development and
execution of action plans to address critical component quality issues

• Reactive and Proactive factory and field component quality issue
resolution and containment

• Focal point for component quality escalations, containment, and status
communications

• Focal point to work towards understanding the failure mechanisms across
product lines, identify the root-cause, and manage supplier for
implementation of the closed-loop corrective actions

• Interface with Component Quality & Technology, Mfg/filed quality,
operations, and design engineering teams to resolve complex technical
problems

• Provide quality improvement project leadership with Cisco suppliers, EMS
partners, and Cisco’s internal engineering and supply chain management teams

• Establish a working relationship with quality management and executives of
Cisco’s key suppliers and EMS partners

• Develop component quality goals, milestones, and achieve targets via
effective cross-functional and cross-organizational leadership and execution




*Required Skills:*



• Agility, promptness, On-call and fast-response culture, thrive in
fast-paste environment

• Competence in conducting precise question-and-answer sessions for
information gathering

• Be able to remain calm and in control under high pressure

• Builder and promoter of strong team environments to collaborate across
functional, geographic, and cultural boundaries

• High level of motivation and energy, and a willingness to go the extra
mile for our customers and our business

• Ability to communicate clearly and crisply at all levels,
cross-functionally, internally & externally, including written and verbal
executive communications

• Thorough knowledge of and experience in Optical-Electronics and
Electromechanical component technologies, fabrication and assembly
processes, testing, quality, and reliability

• Problem solving & effective conflict/tension resolution, customer service,
decision-making, influencing, meeting deadlines

• Ability to work effectively with an understanding of business and
technical direction

• Tactical skills needed for managing day to day work and multiple projects,
while supporting long term strategic goals

• Experience in semiconductor and opto-electronics physical and electrical
failure analysis a plus

• Effective in driving & implementing new processes and participating in
process improvements

• Typically requires BSEE/BSME with 8+ or MSEE/MSEE plus 5+ years experience
in the filed of semiconductor and electromechanical component technologies,
assembly process, test, and manufacturing
