The only other thing I would say is Mil Std 1686 does not reference a
lot of other documents. It does reference the 263 Handbook, which does
provide good guidelines. 20.20 reference a lot of ANSI/ESD ESD
documents to be used to set up a ESD control Program. Read 7.3 in 20.20
to see what I mean. Some others here may have different views. Jon

commercial standard. ANSI/ESD S20.20 standard was intended to replace
MIL-STD 1686. The United States Department of Defense has adopted
ANSI/ESD
S20.20.
What's "adopted" mean? You got me. But apparently Mil-STD-1686C has
not
been retired.
Regardless, there are not too many conflicts; none that come to my mind
right now. I'll do a little research and see if I can find any
conflicts.
