Ummm
The website crashed just after I put the images up, obviously the site
didn't like my pictures either.
As far as I know the surface treatment used is Melonite QPQ.

Was the machine brand new or was it retrofitted to be lead free
compatible? Do you know what the impeller was made of? Or was it coated
to protect it from high tin content solder?

This is an impeller off a Vectra. The impeller is less than one year old
and it was purchased as being lead free compatible.
The alloy is SN100C.

These photos were taken at the point of it being replaced. 
Serious concern was raised at the inspection 4 months before and steps
were taken to get a replacement.
The degradation during the period taken to get a replacement is very
alarming.

Assays of both bath and dross have not shown concerning levels of iron,
it is a big bath! (I did some rough arithmetic and 0.005% was equal to a
~17mm cube of SS)

The machine is usually operated at 265C.

We are now going to recheck the drain plug!!!!!
