Hi Jack,

We use Matte Solder mask because:

1.	Elimination of solder balls
2.	The brightness make the QC eyes fatigue.
3.	The spray flux at the wave soldering station is spreading more even than shiny flux (drops).
Best Regards

They do. but they tell me they have to charge extra to protect the boards
from getting scuffed, even though I can't find any rules in any standard
that say the mask can't be scuffed. Since no one commented on that (except
you, who say some give more weight to appearance than performance) I assumed
it was just one of those things.

anyway, the rebel in me wants to propose that we accept minor cosmetic
imperfections and save the cost, but this is a new topic for me and I was
hoping others may have had to deal with this subject before.
thanks,
Jack
