I'm sorry, but a few members here seem to have ignored, of late,
reasonable discipline in the use of threads.

Background: many members use their e-mail clients to sort the posts into
threads. This has the advantage that, theoretically, the initial post is
followed by all the answers in chronological and hierarchical orders.
This makes following a subject easy-peasy-lemon-squeezy. The other
choices are purely chronological, which means that related posts may be
separated by a dozen others on half-a-dozen different subjects.
Alternatively, users may manually sort their messages.

Problem: some members, who may be unaware of the advantages of threading
in their e-mail client, start a new and unrelated subject by clicking
'Reply' in an existing thread. This new subject therefore appears to be
a reply to the old subject, when it is nothing of the sort. This can be
repeated ad infinitum, or rather ad nauseam. One thread recently housed
six different and unrelated subjects mixed higglety-pigglety.

Solution: I URGE members here to:
- a) always to start a new subject by addressing the post to Technet
from their address book; NEVER start a new subject by using 'Reply' or
'Reply All'.
- b) always to reply to an existing subject by clicking 'Reply' or
'Reply All'; NEVER start a new thread for an existing subject.

Thank you all for listening to my heartfelt plea!

Brian
