Knitting forever, housework whenever.

A highway patrolman pulled alongside a speeding car on the freeway. Glancing
at the car, he was astounded to see that the blonde behind the wheel was
knitting!
Realizing that she was oblivious to his blinking linght and siren, the
trooper cranked down his window, turned on his bullhorn and yelled,
"PULL OVER!"
"NO!" the blonde yelled back, "IT'S A SCARF!"

When I was in the Navy, we had a sailor who brought along a Brother
sewing machine.  He made a mint doing alterations and sewing on patches
for sailors and officers.  Also, if you've ever used a trim shop to
reupholster a car seat or convertible top, it's the guys doing the
sewing.

Graham,

You too!  When I got married I had the sewing machine.  I am the only
one in our family that has ever used it.

Once made a tie for my Dad.  He got to pick the fabric for his tie.  Not
many of us get to do that.

No other new garments but many repairs of coats and other things.  Don't
underestimate the guys
