We didn't get a belt in our last oven, no regrets. Center support is worth
the money and parks fully to the side when you don't need it, or to clear
the lower hanging oven rider.
For profiling we use Board Carriers from ECD. I have a couple set up with
Temprobes mounted to it. This makes for fast profile setups, and when
using soldered thermocouples i still use the board carrier to manage the
wires. We have an ECD oven rider, but since I use the board carrier for
the thermocouple mounting I built a Mole carrier pallet to the same width
that is not as flimsy as the oven rider. we use this method on the older
ovens which have a belt also.

Ioan,
I would not suggest using an oven without a belt if you are building many
different form factor assemblies...
A belt affords you the several different of methods controlling the
thermal exposure of a PCA in addition to the reflow profile...
AND sometimes,...Stuff happens and parts fall off the PCBs...
