We built one, although it's not for sale. We just bolted a small hi res camera to the structure the spindle is bolted to, and calibrated the offset. Takes about US $5000 worth of new equipment (besides the pcb drill, of course)--camera with right magnification, LED light source for it, cross hair generator, and monitor. Plus you need to design brackets, etc, to mount it. But we can now optically target, allowing better than 20 micron accuracy for hole positioning.

Subject: [TN] Bombsite PCB drill
Hi fellow 'netters,
I took a job up here in the Silicon Valley. I've been lurking, but not
participating much. I must say, it's good to be back!
I've been looking for an old school pcb drill, bottom up configuration
with a magnified bombsite optical alignment, typically was used for
homebrewed prototypes.
I've scoured the www and cannot find a current manufacturer.
If you might have one (or know where one is) I'm very interested.
Any help would be appreciated!
Regards,
Ed Popielarski
