Sorry to hear the news. The engineering jobs are harder to find especially without having to sell your home and move the whole family.
I'm finding that the business world is so uncertain that even companies who listed jobs with recruiters aren't setting up interviews because they really aren't sure what to do. At least that is what is happening in the NH and MA area.
The job fairs are 95% to give companies free publicity and get business for recruiters. The 5% is for entry level positions and the government jobs hire only under age 35 and sometimes under 25 unless you've had a government job and established high level grades then the government career site may have something but mostly they are forestry related. I thought with all the talk of rebuilding the infrastructure there would be a lot of civil and technical positions open but no.
