One individual here at work said:

"I would say, molybdenum, only because it was of all things, an
important plot element in an old "Paladin" episode.

My next guess would be cobalt"

This individual remember a "Have Gun Will Travel" series where a land
owner was being force to sell and the land owner contracted "Paladin"
the star to protect him. Instead at the end, Paladin said you need to
sale since molybdenum was on the property and would cause cattle to
become sick.
