Ken

Rugby was a good first step. Football added precision and strategy.

You are right on target. Football was invented so that real men could settle
their differences and then over time again become friends. In football the
players ware pads to help protect them from the bone bursting broadsides
they receive on every play. Our coach normally placed a bounty on the head
of each opposing player. At a special ceremony after the gain the awards
were delivered. We usually had 5-10 ambulances on site for each game. We
were very proud of the fact that no one ever scored against us and walked
  off the field!

What a game for real men!
