One must also consider many other things when choosing which soldermask
product to use. Certain (space) applications require a low outgassing
material, higher insulation resistance, lower dielectric properties for
lossy high RF applications, a matte finish if you expect to bond
components, heatsinks or other items to it, and a wide variety of other
considerations. Often overlooked properties are the thermal resistance
(especially when using certain LEDs, high power magnetics, high wattage
SMT chip resistors, for example), laminar bond strength, CTE properties,
ability to be clamped with torqued hardware or staked with rivets or
pemnuts, overall moisture resistance, etc.
Refer to IPC-D-279.

Try not to select your mask just because you like the pretty deep green
translucent hue.

Check with your PCB Assembly folks as there are definetely tradeoffs
between
Matte And Gloss finish. I've usually gone as far as to specify a
particular
product (eg. "Taiyo PSR4000") per my assembler's preference.

If you do specify a particular product it's quite likely you'll get
consistant color.
