Jon,

Yikes! Way too high for some reels.

Bev

Here is results of one of our attempts to bake on reels. Not good for
us. We could not find what temperature the reels could with stand. Jon

The first observation was when the chamber reached 105 degrees Celsius;

The packaging reel was badly deformed

The carrier tape was warped

The clear anti-static cover tape appeared to be OK.

            The second observation was when the chamber reached 125
degrees Celsius;

The packaging reel was deformed even more than it was at 105C

The carrier tape looked to be the same as it was at 105C

The clear anti-static cover tape still appeared to be OK

            The third observation was when the chamber had been at 125
degrees C for 1.5 hours;

All three appeared to be in the same condition they were in when the
chamber first reached 125 degrees C (Max temp to be reached in baking
these ICs).

TechNetters,

Have any of you heard of reels that can't be baked at 40C?
