Let me offer a slightly different [historical] perspective.

So recall we are thinking of a nation reinventing itself, expanding and
industrialising. Receiving huge inward investment and benefiting from a near
infinite supply of cheap labour. And not too fussy about others' IP rights.
Sounds familiar, but who are we thinking of?

Yes you guessed it - the late 18th/early 19th century United States.

Not an exact parallel, but in these broad brush terms perhaps a pause for
thought, especially while you fast forward.....

Regards

Mike

wow.... $3.15 ???

When I visited China only a few years ago, the rate was closer to $0.45 !!!

If the rates keep increasing at that pace, soon there will be no advantage.

I happened to see an article about worker payment in the Far East. A
typical chinese industry operator has 3.15 $ per hour.
