No!  You take the same steps to qualify them as you would with a new
vendor.  In 20 years with Nielsen and about $200M in contract builds,
the only time we've ever been burned by a counterfeit part was in
exactly the situation you describe below.   This is not the place to try
and save costs.

If Company A, who is an approved manufacturer of a component (IC, diode,
etc...) goes out and purchases Company B, do you automatically approve
Company B's version of that component as well? What criteria do you use
for making your determination? Are there any industry guidelines or
standards that address this issue?
