In the past, I would of said something about "grounds for termination";
"urn a living"; or "tarnish your career" but Doug (who doesn't know
beans about this subject) expressed an opinion it was time to grow up
and get back to the daily grind.

Subject: Re: [TN] Friday quiz 6

Yeah, boy do I know about that! I made the mistake when I was a young
sailor
after taking the last cup of coffee from the pot, I thought I would do
the
right thing and put a fresh pot on. I took the grounds out of the
strainer
and noticed that the pot seemed kind of "grungy". So again, trying to do
the
right thing, I thought I would clean the pot out. So I took the pot over
to
the sink and started washing it out.

A chief happened to notice me scrubbing out the pot and started yelling
at
me "Sailor, just what in the hell do you think you're doing?" I
stammered;"Uh...uh..uh, making a fresh pot of coffee...sir" He replied;
"Son, don't you EVER, I mean EVER, clean that coffee pot again! Do you
know
how long it took to break that pot in and get a decent cup of coffee out
of
it?"

One of the many valuable lessons I learned as a young sailor.

Steve

I'm a recovering sailor. Ergo, Steve and I knew it involved coffee
before even reading the post. Maybe we should have recused
ourselves. Mixing professional coffee drinkers with amatuers and
all....
