Hi All,
There is a committee that deals with the documentation issues. It is the 2-40 committee that has just published IPC-2611, 2612, 2612-1, 2614, which is added to the 2615 on dimensioning and tolerancing. The abstract of what is in each standard is posted in the IPC book store at.

This committee met at APEX and is starting work on the 2616 (Assembly) and 2617 (Testing). If you would like to get involved please send a message to Jeanne Cooney ([log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>) and ask to be a part of this activity as we will probably be looking to update the existing series.
Best regards,
Dieter Bergman

Dave –
This type of document is process defined by each company. No two that I have worked with have been the same. PCB Matrix has a good base point in their down loadable documents section <http://www.pcbmatrix.com/Downloads/GeneralDocuments.asp> Look at the Design Profile and Design Check List. This should be a good starting point but you will need to tailor these documents for your company’s process.

Subject: [DC] PCB Design Input Imformation
Hi,
I am trying to compile documentation to convey all the necessary information and constraints from PCB design authority (engineer) to PCB designer (me). This must be an already designed wheel.
I would also like to include checking procedures, check lists and check responsibility.
Please will you assist with what ever you have.
Should this not become an IPC document if it dose not already exist.
Regards,
Dave Sharples
