Hi Guy - oops, sorry about that! BCC stands for Body Centered Cubic
crystal structure. The metallic elements can be classified in different
crystal structures: Triclinic, Monoclinic, Orthorhombic, Tetragonal,
Hexagonal, Rhombohedral, and Cubic. Each of the crystal structures can
then be subdivided into Simple, Face Centered and Body Centered. And that
was probably wayyyyy more metallurgy than ya wanted but it makes
determining the Friday Element Quiz answer much more manageable.
Ir has a Face Centered Cubic (FCC) crystal structure so you get a Mulligan
and can take a second guess.

RE: [TN] NTC - Friday Element Quiz
What is a BCC metal?
I have a guess,
Iridium, ninth highest melting point, very resistant to corrosion.

Subject: [TN] NTC - Friday Element Quiz
Hi folks! Ok, its Friday so its time for another element quiz:
The Question:
I am a ductile BCC metal and one of the few BCC metals that has
no ductile-to-brittle transition. My elemental name is part of Greek
mythology.
Bonus Points:
Name this metal's greatest attribute and its melting temperature
rank with respect to all of the metals.
I am pretty sure that everyone will be able with some sleuthing to figure
out which element but the hard part of the question is getting the bonus
points!
Good luck and again this week, the winner will get to claim Doug's desk.
