Check out "the impossible project".

They are working on a drop in replacement for Polaroid film, and are
just entering initial production. It is a fascinating story of reverse
engineering.

Subject: [TN] Looking for a digital x-ray sensor replacement for
Polaroid film

Hi all,

I'm hoping that this may find someone in our group that might have a
suggestion.

We manufacture an X-ray source that we have traditionally used Polaroid
4x5 single sheet film and a lead aperture to determine if our system is
in alignment. Polaroid film is no longer available so we need a viable
replacement. Intraoral (bite wing) dental sensors work great but are
too small in sensing area. We need something that is approximately 2" x
3" and ideally would connect via USB. Our energy can be adjusted easily
from 40keV to 160keV and the exposure time can be adjusted to fit within
the requirements of the sensor. We need a single sensor for this
routine test application that is reasonable priced.

Sales answers can be provided offline.

Thanks in advance,

Phil Nutting
