I could be way off base on this but I thought that after all the problems
people had with tarnished component leads and circuit boards, not to mention
other metal, the bag industry changed their formulas and that was no longer
a problem.

I think Bev was on target in the fact that some of them may have cleaned up
their act and others may have not. Some experiments and discussions with the
manufacturer should yield some good results.

Subject: Re: [TN] ESD Cap Plugs

Gregg,

Several lives ago, in a space application, we found "pink poly" bags
contaminated components, rendering them non-solderable. Also, the
residue from the "pink poly" bags left a residue on optics in a space
application. Therefore, we outlawed all "pink poly" bags, regardless of
the manufacturer.

Hope this helps.

Good Luck.
