The question was "Who am I? The answer is Dave Hillman.

The wrong answer is Ekasilicon or Germanium. That was the element
discover in 1945, predicted Dmiteri Mendeleev and discovered by Winkler.
The preamble to the question was there to distract and confound.

From the song (Good Old) Mountain Dew

"...Oh, I'll shut up my mug
If you'll fill up my jug
With that good old mountain dew."

If I can find a Banjo in Las Vegas, I will play "Mountain Dew" for
y'all.

Subject: [TN] NTC - Friday Elemental Trivia Question

Hi Technet! I suppose I'll get in trouble for posting a NTC message but
it
is science based and fun in a engineering fashion. Here is the Friday
elemental quiz question:

Q: There is one element in row 14 of the Periodic table that prior to
1945, the world production totaled less than 200 kg/year. However, after

Brattain's discovery in 1947, this element's importance skyrocketed. Who

am I?

The first person with the correct answer will get to have access to
Doug's
Diet Mt. Dew supply!

Dave Hillman
Rockwell Collins
