On an .062" or greater you can repair a press fit connector twice.

Before scraping a board you could always solder the leads to assure good reliability since after this point you have nothing to loose.

The reliability information for a specific press pin design is reported in the documentation of the manufacturer.

I've attached one such document.IPC-A-610 only covers insertion angle, spacing to board and damage to pin or housing.

http://www.btipnow.com/library/white_papers/Reliability%20of%20PressFIT%20Connections.pdf

Under reliability 2 more insertions are allowed.

I hope this is helpful.

Subject: [TN] Press fit connectors

Does IPC rework standards have anything regarding EPT press fit
connectors?

We have expressed our concerns (multiple times) with reworking any type
of press fit connectors to the customer and they are still pushing BU to
agree to the rework, they don't want to scrap $$$ a bunch of product.

Hopefully we can direct the customer to a IPC standard or white
paper/study
