Radioshack sell a very good gold contact cleaner. It was recommended to use on the gold contacts for our pick&place machines. It is very expensive but it works.

I too prefer an eraser but a product that I really like for spray-on is
Deoxit Gold. I've never used it in industry but I've used it at home for
years on my boat and cars and it works great!
