Compliant press fit pins have to have a tapered end or the barrel will be damaged during insertion.

Starting with a PCB thickness of .031", you would not have enough contact surface area for a reliable connection and strength against creep issues from insertion and extraction pressures.

Since the vendor of the part specifies the design won't work that leaves you with either:

-buying the thru-hole version and soldering it or

- if the major reason for the compliant pin design is to assure the part stays flat and properly aligned then use it but solder the pins afterwards to achieve the reliability.

- The only other choice may be to use an SMT socket for your part if total height isn't an issue.

I hope this helps.

Do you mean compliant pin pressfit connectors, or test points, or pins
for CCGAs?

Anyone using compliant pins on 0.031" PCB's? If so, what PCB finish? We
have
a product team who wants to use this combination. To my knowledge, there

are no pin suppliers who will recommend their pins with this PCB
thickness.
