Hello Leif
You have an interesting suggestion but there is a large legacy of
information that Steve has generously consented to be custodian for and he has
provided us all with a great service in doing so. I am not certain what the
right answer is. Perhaps the IPC could provide such as page as you suggest so
that it would be one stop shopping so to speak.
Just some thoughts...

Technetters,
First of all I want to emphasize that the suggestion in this email is
not at all meant as criticism of Steve and his efforts in uploading
pictures and maintaining that site. I realize Steve has to make a living
and may not be able to post pictures as quickly as we need at times. I
have learned so much from these pics so that is why this is important to
me. I am suggestion a more automatic approach. This solution will allow
us to view pictures instantly. If the consensus is that the current
system is good enough I do not have a problem with that.
My suggestion is to use Google Picasa Web albums. This is a free service
created to allow sharing of photos. It also allows pictures to be posted
by email. There is a specific email address that is unique to each
account. For my personal web album I send an email to
llaerum.<secretword>@picasaweb.com. I am using this quite a bit to shate
photos with friends and family. The pictures gets posted within a minute
or two. The pictures get posted with a caption that is the subject of
the email. of the email. All we would have to do when posting pics is to
copy the "post-to-picasa" email address. Google gives you 1 Gigabyte of
storage so we would have to employ some management and remove the oldest
pictures. The only drawback is that Picasa does not allow documents
which on occasion would be nice.
I am not sure if the admin of technet would have to concur before
setting this up? I would like to have some sort of "thumbs up" from the
owners of the technet email reflector before setting this up. I
volunteer to be the admin.
