Graham,
I thought I would have an earlier version as well, but alas I do not.
In any case, my recollection was that this spec was for the more generic
'solders' [at <300-400°C liquidus] and not the more higher temp 'brazes'
like the 780°C CuAg eutectic.
My use of the terms 'solders' and 'brazes' may not be totally correct [Dave
H can provide clarification], but I would suggest, as others have, that the
'silver' solder you are looking for is the low temp Sn62 Pb36 Ag2 [Sn62 at
180°C], or Sn96.3 Ag 3.7 [which we used to call 'Sn96/4' or Sn96 at 221°C],
both being eutectic solders.
We used to use both for soldering on thick film Ag, Pd/Ag, or Pt/Pd/Ag's to
mitigate leaching of the Ag bearing inks.
Since this is apparently for a PWB application, I think one could reasonably
argue that anything above Sn96/4 is unlikely to be desired.
Get snow?! Michigan dug out again. Will let you know how the next round
is..
Steve C
