we find that cold-cure acrylic is very good for most in-process
microsectioning.  the ease of use and quick setting are very handy in a
production environment for unpopulated boards.    for high-precision
work we use cold cure epoxy -- the results are more pleasing but it is a
titch less user friendly when preparing the samples...

We've tried everything.  In general you'll be much more satisfied with
epoxy results.  But be careful, not all epoxy is equal.  Struers has got
the good stuff, but you'll pay $$$$  If you want to try some straight
from the formulator try Axson (although if I remember correctly their
best stuff was urethanes). IF we had a reliable supply of our favorite,
I'd tell you what it is :) sorry. Chris
