I think it also important to remember that there has, to the best of  
anyone's knowledge, ever been a proven case of harm caused to an
individual  by 
lead in electronic solders in normal use and at end of life properly
disposed 
 of or recycled. 
 
While we understand how, exactly why the EU continues to  force
lead-free 
issue on the world at large, in the face of mounting  evidence that is
it 
counter productive, remains as one of the great ironies  of modern 
environmental science and I trust will be a case study in the future
about how good 
intentions don't always yield good results. 
 
One of my friends routinely adds a tag to his emails which is a quote
from  
Ronald Reagan. It is: "The nine most terrifying words in the English  
language are: 'I'm from the government and I'm here to  help.'"
