Thank you, Richard, for using this terminology to identify the species. 
  I have done so many times in this context privately (just ask my poor 
wife), but shied away from it in a public forum.

Indeed, we have plenty of "weenies" involved in this on our side of the 
pond as well: Life here in Northern San Francisco (Seattle) is 
positively "teeming" with them.
