Hi,
I have been seeking to try and standardise our through hole diameters in
relation to the pins/battery tag size and in line with IPC recommendations. I
have come across figures in IPC-2222 which outlines these sizes. However…
These are only for round pin in round plated through hole. We are using
battery tags of rectangular dimension 0.15x0.75mm. Taking the recommended
dims for the round pin and applying it to our tag will mean that there is a
greater volume of solder in the through hole.
Does anyone know if there is a standard refering to this scenario?
Should the through hole be made rectangular/oblong to accommodate this tag
shape?
Any information would be much appreciated
Regards
Richard
