Dear Chris

To identify Imm Au and Electrolytic Au - thickness may be the way. Imm Au
will not cross 0.08 to 0.1 um. Hard Gold may be higher if specified.
If both are specified in same range of 0.1 um - it will be difficult to
identify.

I do not believe they will perform differently also - at 0.1um. Except Imm
Au - badly done will give you solderability issues.

Ah.  Joyce, thank you.  I think I should have ask: how common is Ni hardened
Au?
I may have misunderstood it to be rarely used in electronics.  My
metallurgist mentor retired 3 years ago.  We miss him.
