I agree with you Mike.

Most of this stuff is just cut and paste and we get our supplers to do 
the donkey work and fill out their part of the form for us. I used to 
think that no one read them either and was seriously considering 
slipping a gramme of plutonium into a materials declaration just to see 
if anyone said anything when our customer did actually comment on a few 
details.

That said it is mind crushingly boring. In the past I've regarded it a 
bit like toothache, if you can ignore it for long enough it seems to go 
away. But that's not a very professional approach.
