The contact was designed for a low abrasion gold surface.  Solder will abrade quite readily, or at least have the surface finish perturbed, when influenced by the installation of a sliding contact.



Interaction between a gold contact and a solder surface will not be stable over time.  The gold will migrate into the solder.
