You have to be very careful when dealing with wild animals. The DNR is
very particular regarding the harassment of wildlife. Tagging a moose or
deer with a paintball could land you a fine, if you get caught. You can
purchase an electrified fence system at your local Farm and Fleet or
Tractor supply. Just make sure you watch the kids around it and most
certainly remember it is there when mowing the lawn. There is nothing
like backing into an electrified fence without a shirt on. It could make
a 70 year old man break the world record in the high jump and make the
toughest of guys scream like a little school girl. (No offense to the
ladies out there or any 70 year old men) You could try and get a hold of
some weather resistant digital images of wolves and some wolf urine.
Sprinkle a little urine by the garden and stake one or two of the photos
in the yard. You will have to move the photos around once in a while so
they do not get used to seeing them in the same spot and you will have
to periodically sprinkle more urine to keep the sent strong enough to
keep them at bay. Just make sure you are getting wolf urine and not wolf
in heat urine or you will have another problem on your hand, one that
could be more serious then the last. The same could be done using
coyotes. I am not sure a coyote would scare a moose.
