Eric,

So your question is... what is the shelf life for MS parts, with regards to moisture intrusion?
There is none, but you do have a couple of possibilities.

1. Your parts are stored in a dry-box or in protective packaging and they are ok to use (per the humidity indicator card) when needed.

2. Your parts are stored in moisture barrier bag with desiccant, but they are on the shelf long enough for moisture to make its way into the bag/part/desiccant such that the parts must be baked out prior to use. The length of time that it takes for this to happen will depend on the transmissivity of the bag, the amount of desiccant, and the environmental conditions of storage.

3. Parts are not stored with any kind of moisture protection and must be baked prior to use.

Ben

What about moisure sensitivity? I'm thinking about MSL classifications
which are outlines in a Jedec spec which I can't lay my hands on right
now? A bit of a vague question.

Regards,
