I wouldn't buy a pig in a poke, but I would take ENEPIG in a flash.

Subject: Re: [TN] ENIG Issue

Why not use Nickel Palladium Gold? It has all the performance attributes

of ENIG without the chance of Nickel corrosion. It is essentially black
pad proof as you are putting electroless Palladium on the Nickel
surface,
not immersion Gold. The immersion gold does not corrode the Palladium
like
it does Nickel. This is truly a universal finish, without the corrosion
issues.

There's a 3rd group:
Those that think ENIG is like a representative democracy. It's
absolutely the worst thing we've ever used -- except for everything
else we've tried.

IOW, even after having had every imaginable problem with ENIG, many
of us still think ENIG is a good (enough) surface finish and have
worked root cause corrective action successfully with suppliers.
