Stephen,

I normally work with the Gerber files but my occasionally I get a screen shot with a question from Photo Stencil and it has Trilogy 5000 screen capture. So I think it is safe to say Photo Stencil can handle ODB++ files. You should be able to output from Valor to Gerber 274X format as well.

Good Luck,

Subject: [TN] Making a stencil from OBD++ Files

Hi All,

Do any of you know of any stencil vendors that can make stencils from a OBD++ file?

I had one vendor in the past, but it was a few day affair,they had to do a lot of extra work to get something they could use to make the stencil. I thought ODB++ files were supposed to be the next big thing for manufacturing data.

I had to download a Valor viewer to look at it, but once I did that there was so much good information about the board in there. All the layer data, the BOM, footprints for components, fab drawing, ect.

I sent it to our current stencil vendor and they said that it was just a text file and they couldn't use it

Is OBD++ dead?

Steve
