It's best to verify coating in a very well darkened room. When coatings are verified at a workbench with ambient white light all around you'll find that the fluorescence of the coating will be overcome by the reflection from shiny metal cans and other reflective parts, making them appear to be uncoated. Try looking at the boards in a dark room and see if there's a difference.

Subject: [TN] UV can't see on the board

Hello,

The silicone conformal coating (UV added) was applied on our board.
All parts are well covered from both angles and were inspected under a UV
light.
All I need to have is just a small explanation of why the UV cannot be see
on some particular parts.

Any insight into this matter would greatly be appreciated.
