There is coax that is designed to be soldered to the board. If the board has
not been finalized, spots are left on the the board to solder the braided
jacket to the board. The center conductor hole is reduced in size compared
to the connector. The cost of a connector is saved at the cost of additonal
labor. It may be easier to cut and strip the center conductor long, insert,
solder and trim
